Hourly Rate: $37.50 - $42.75
This position is located in Valleyview, Alberta. The successful candidate must be willing to relocate or commute to Valleyview, Alberta.

We are currently seeking a Health Care Aide to join us at South Valley Residence, our premier community located in the vibrant, diverse, and active town of Valleyview, AB.

As the Licensed Practical Nurse at South Valley Residence, you will:
- Provide resident-focused care in a home-like environment, respecting the individual and dignity of each resident/family and co-workers.
- Provide direct care by assessing resident health needs such as but not limited to recording of vital signs, discusses and records chief health concerns, performs tests, administers injections and medications, dressing changes, immunizations, etc.
- Monitor residents with complex medical needs.
- Supervise and evaluate work performance in terms of resident care, staff relations and efficiency of service.
- Direct the work of HCA's based on resident and site needs.
- Order prescriptions and sets up referral contacts.
- Document patient care observations and activities according to professional standards and procedures.
- Thoroughly educate and explain procedures to residents and family members and assists them in coping with illness.
- Maintain required records including specimen, maintenance, daily, weekly, and monthly logs.
- Practice to their full range of competence within applicable legislation, regulations, bylaws and employer policies.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement.
- Create a facility environment that protects confidentiality of residents, staff and activities of the community.
What you bring:
- Graduate from a recognized LPN Program, experience in gerontology is preferred.
- Current membership in good standing with CLPNA
- CPR/BCLS for healthcare provider required.
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, teamwork, concern resolution process and customer service.
- Strong organizational and computer skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to person-centered care
- Ability to problem solve through critical thinking.
- Enthusiastic attitude and energy to provide excellent care and service on behalf of the company.
