Job Summary:
The Records Management Specialist will support the Information and Privacy office by reviewing confidential records in response to access to information requests. This includes identifying relevant information, applying exemptions and exceptions to disclosure, preparing summaries and recommendations, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. The role also involves coordinating processing activities, consulting with stakeholders, and supporting records management practices. Location:Alberta, Canada Responsibilities:
- Apply expertise in provincial and federal access to information legislation to recognize and apply exemptions and exceptions to disclosure.
- Coordinate day-to-day processing activities for access to records, ensuring compliance with statutory duties.
- Clarify requests, consult with department staff, identify issues, and prepare recommendations.
- Coordinate tasks, track milestones in processing requests, and provide consultation with stakeholders.
- Guide and support records management practices.
- Support the office in preparing summaries and chronologies and liaise with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner. Required Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with provincial and federal access to information legislation, including Alberta's Access to Information Act (ATIA) and Canada's Access to Information Act. Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with Alberta's former Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Special Considerations:

- Standard hours of work are 08:15 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
