Description of the job
Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for analyzing and refining business and technical requirements to develop detailed RFX solicitation documents. This role involves supporting procurement strategies, preparing RFXs, assisting with vendor communication, evaluating bids, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies. The specialist will also contribute to post-RFX activities, including contract finalization and vendor performance evaluations. Location:Alberta, Canada Responsibilities:
- Support the development of procurement strategies aligned with project objectives.
- Research and refine business and technical requirements.
- Prepare RFXs and draft associated review documents.
- Identify potential subprojects requiring separate RFXs.
- Assist in interpreting RFXs for vendors and drafting formal responses.
- Prepare selection methodologies, evaluation plans, and award recommendations.
- Review vendor bids for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Create supporting documentation in accordance with procurement policy.
- Assist in organizing bidder conferences and vendor presentations.
- Support the debriefing process for unsuccessful vendors.
- Assist in finalizing contracts with selected vendors.
- Conduct post-procurement reviews and compile vendor performance evaluations.
- Prepare formal evaluation reports and procurement recommendations.
- Maintain accurate procurement and contract records. Required Skills & Certifications:
- Demonstrated experience in preparing RFXs.
- Experience in reviewing vendor bids/proposals.
- Experience with procurement policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with post-procurement reviews and vendor performance evaluations. Special Considerations:
- Onsite role.
- Background check required prior to commencement of services.
- Mandatory training courses to be completed upon hiring, including Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Security/Cybersecurity, Information Management, and Respect in the Workplace. Scheduling:
- Standard hours are 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM Alberta time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
