The need for an industrial training centre was identified by SATO stakeholders as a priority for servicing the oil and gas drilling industry. The industry suffered a significant loss of qualified people because of market instability. Prior to that, due to safety regulations, service companies were not able to train green hands-on site. This led to a shortage of qualified drilling specific oilfield personnel. In response, SATO has replicated a drilling site allowing for site specific training to occur in a controlled environment.
SATO specializes in training vacuum truck, water truck and track hoe operators. The mission being to develop a new group of operators that are better trained and equipped to embrace a long-term career in the oil and gas industry. These operators will be trained to safely complete the responsibilities of their job, encouraging a new culture in the industry that focuses on career satisfaction and employee safety.
In addition, SATO offers a unique course providing Basic Rig Site Orientation as well as the required courses to be certified onsite such as H2S and First Aid.
