About our Society.
The Craigmyle Historic Society was incorporated May 13, 2008 for the purpose of restoring the Historic Craigmyle Church and renovating the church basement such that it can be used as a community resource. We are a volunteer based organization dedicated to the collection, preservation and management of Craigmyle history with an emphasis on recognizing the past, present and future needs of Craigmyle and area. Our objectives are:
•To restore and preserve the Craigmyle Historic Church and to provide, administer and maintain the facility for the community in general to carry out community events such as baptisms, weddings and funerals for all denominations.
•To collect, preserve and display historical information of our community with the objective of being a historic resource.
•To preserve within our community by protecting buildings and items that are of historical significance or value.
•To advance the public's understand and appreciation of local history and the importance of preserving local history.
